Recipes from the Heart, great for the Tummy!


Easy Chocolate Cherry Bars

1 box Devil's Food Cake Mix (any brand)

2 eggs

1 can Comstock Cherry Pie Filling

1 tsp vanilla or almond extract

1/4 cup water

Mix well by hand in large mixing bowl.  Pour into floured and greased (or use Pam Spray with flour) in a 9x13 pan, or a jelly roll 15x1x9 pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

 

Frosting:

1/2 cup butter (1 block)

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup milk or heavy cream

Boil for 1 minute, remove from heat and mix in the following ingredients until well blended:

1 cup chocolate chips - mini or regular

1 tsp vanilla

 

Frost cake while warm.  Cut into bars when cool.
